Musical Style
This is not a blues, jazz, country, folk, classical or rock guitar book, but it is a book that will make you a better blues, jazz, country, folk, classical, or rock guitarist.

The benefits of a thorough knowledge of the fretboard aren't limited to any one playing style. No matter who you are or what kind of music you play, fretboard mastery and the the foundations of tonal structures gained while attaining will make you a better and more confident player.
Why Bother?
You won't find a hard sell here, either you're a serious student of the guitar or you're not. If you are, you need to know where the notes are, period.

Can you imagine a piano player only knowing a few select notes in a few areas of the keyboard? Or how about a horn player who only knows how to find a handful of notes? No? Then why would we think we could truly master the guitar without knowing where on the fretboard to play what we want to play?

You also need to know the relationships among the notes, and the note-learning method in this book provides a lens through which these relationships become clear, two birds with one stone...

So if you're ready to take the plunge, this is the perfect place to start. If you're not, get the book anyway and save it so you'll have it when you finally realize that it really is precisely what you needed!
